Christian Iranian Pastor Faces Imminent Execution – Please Pray!

Truth Behind Reality readers: I ask you to read the following article and then immediately, earnestly, pray!

Warning Sounded: Iran May Kill Condemned Christian Pastor in Secret – January 02, 2012

Condemned Iranian Christian Pastor – Pastor Youcef

I have been following this story for several months through Jay Sekulow’s emails and radio program. Jay Sekulow is an international Jewish Christian lawyer for the American Center for Law and Justice, Founder and Chief Counsel. Read Pastor Youcef’s situation synopsis from a Christian viewpoint here on ACLJ.org.

I normally don’t feel the need to directly involve myself in this type of affair, except in personal prayer, but this time is different. I feel responsibility for him. Please, we must pray for Pastor Youcef. I believe in the power of intercessory prayer and I believe he needs it right now! He needs to know he is not alone: he needs to feel God’s powerful presence. But not only for himself: If we pray down heaven so that God’s Holy power consumes him with living fire from the inside out, the watching world will know it is Christ alone who is within him.

Pastor Youcef stands completely alone as a living Christian witness to the Islamic world, which includes his Iranian prison guards, trial judges, President, Supreme Leader and the Iranian general population. This is a rare opportunity for our Savior – Jesus Christ, the One who set us free – to publically glorify himself, both in Iran and to the whole world.

Pastor Youcef’s health is deteriorating, and just as the Apostle Peter’s Church family earnestly prayed for him during that awful night of his imprisonment by Herod (which resulted in a miracle), I am asking you my Church family – my Truth Behind Reality fellow believers in Christ – please pray for Pastor Youcef right now!

Please forward this message to every committed follower of Christ you know.

About Todd Beal

I love truth and its facts. I love thought-provoking conversations that give both the other person and me a better understanding of a particular topic. I love to find answers to life-long questions; answers that let me see things for what they are instead of what they seem to be. I truly enjoy being in the midst of a group of people where all individuals are joining in, where everybody is enjoying the company of each other. I relax in the company of individuals who are competent yet humble. I like to catch myself doing or saying something ridiculous and then laugh my head off. I enjoy my church and being involved.

  1. Todd,

Got right down on my knees after I read your post and the attached news article. It’s hard to believe that people of ANY religious persuasion would feel it necessary to force anyone to “convert”. Where is God in that? I hope that God’s power is shown in this man’s deliverance from evil.

Thanks a lot Michael. I really appreciate you praying for Pastor Youcef. Whatever the result, whether he dies or receives his freedom, the whole world is watching his witness for Christ. That is the most important aspect.

  2. Indeed only prayer to God the Almighty can help this! However, GOD’s will be done! For the Christian death, even as a martyr, evil does not win. “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell (Gehenna).” (Matt. 10:28)

Absolutely Fr. Robert. That’s why I never pray for a certain outcome unless I receive situation-specific faith. If God wills me to know a certain outcome, he will give me the certainty to pray for that outcome. Right now, I have certainty to pray for Pastor Youcef’s wellbeing and spiritual strength while he is yet alive. Regardless of the final outcome, the whole world will see within Pastor Youcef an inexplicable peace and hope that points only toward Christ.

This reminds me once again of The Christian Martyr’s Creed (January 26, 2011 post): “If you kill me, my soul goes to God, robbing your master of any chance to take it. If you torture me, others will see Christ in my suffering, taking their eyes off you and me. If you set me free I will tell others about Christ, taking them away from you and the one you serve. So what will you do?”
